Florida Requires Carbon Monoxide Detectors
The Florida Building Code now includes a requirement for carbon monoxide detectors in order to issue a permit for any dwelling that has an attached garage, a fireplace or a fossil-fuel-burning heater or appliance. Effective July 1, 2008, an operational carbon monoxide alarm must be installed within 10 feet of each room used for sleeping.
