Estero Fire Rescue is proud to offer many services to the community, one of which includes a “sharps” disposal program.  “Sharps” include used syringes with attached needles and disposable lancets and other sharp medical instruments, such as an IV catheter.  It is important that these containers be disposed of properly.

Residents who have medical conditions that require the use of injected medications, such as insulin, may drop off used containers and pick up new containers free of charge at any Estero Fire Rescue station.

Used containers can be delivered to the fire stations listed at left as long as firefighters are in the station to accept used containers. PLEASE do not leave used containers outside fire station if firefighters are not available to personally accept the container. This will ensure that used sharps are disposed of properly.
